THE LAWN BAR AT THE ANTIGUA YACHT CLUB
This year the Committee Desk, Registration and the administrative heart of Antigua Sailing Week have moved to Antigua Yacht Club. The famous Cloggy’s Restaurant team will therefore be providing excellent food and drinks on the lawn. The lawn bar will be open from 2:30 pm to 6 pm daily (later on prize-giving days) from Friday, April 27 to Friday, May 4.
THE GUADELOUPE TO ANTIGUA RACE PRIZE GIVING – Friday, April 27
Everyone is invited to gather on the lawn at Antigua Yacht Club for the official Guadeloupe to Antigua Race prize giving. Bar opens at 2.30 pm and the prize giving takes place place from 5 pm to 7 pm with music provided by DJ Stiffla.
THE OFFICIAL WELCOME PARTY AND YACHTING WORLD ROUND ANTIGUA RACE PRIZE GIVING PARTY – Saturday, April 28
Beginning at 5 pm in Nelson’s Dockyard, come and meet up with other Antigua Sailing Week participants, size up the competition and generally have a great night. Prizes for the Yachting World Round Antigua Race will be awarded at 7 pm, including the coveted Yachting World Trophy for the best elapsed time. For English Harbour Rum drinkers, get there early for your chance to get an English Harbour Rum cap. Entertainment courtesy of the Vision Band and DJ Prebble.
THE OFFICIAL WELCOME AFTER-PARTY @ ABRACADABRA – Saturday, April 28
Enjoy Abracadabra’s legendary party atmosphere and dance until late under the stars with Kiss FM DJ Shortee, the UK’s best hip hop DJ. Entrance fee EC$20 in advance/EC$30 on the door.
IMOBILE DOCKYARD FESTIVAL – Sunday, April 29
Beginning at 2:30 pm in Nelson’s Dockyard enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the day including DJ’s Tanny & Nez, Harmonites Steel Orchestra, bands Hygh Tempa, 1761° and Claudette ‘CP’ Peters & the Taxik Band. An Antiguan Marine Art and Photography Exhibition from Art at the Ridge will take place in the Copper and Lumber Store Hotel along with art on display from the Schools' Art Competition, sponsored by LIAT The Caribbean Airline. The prize giving for the Schools' Art Competition will take place at 4 pm on the main stage. There will be a guest appearance from Sir Vivan Richards, and Mindful Movement will be brining Zumba to Sailing Week. Superb food and drink will be on sale throughout the day to ensure you can stay the course. DAILY PRIZE GIVING PARTY– Monday, April 30
Beginning at 2:30 pm enjoy drinks and food plus music from DJ Sporty on the lawn at Antigua Yacht Club. Prizes will be awarded to the day’s winning boats at 5 pm. Following the prize giving, Itchy Feet will get you dancing through to dinner.
THE ANTIGUA HOTELS AND TOURIST ASSOCIATION DAILY PRIZE GIVING – Tuesday, May 1
Beginning at 2.30 pm will be drinks and food plus music from DJ Who on the lawn at the Antigua Yacht Club. Prizes will be awarded to the day’s winning boats at 5 pm. Be there to see if you are the lucky person to win a week’s stay at one of Antigua’s beautiful resorts courtesy of the Antigua Hotels and Tourist Association.
KY-MANI MARLEY LIVE IN CONCERT – Tuesday, May 1
Beginning at 6 pm in Nelson’s Dockyard, keep your ticket stub to receive a complimentary English Harbour Rum drink. Enjoy music from DJ Woody, then live music from Spirited featuring West Indies Cricket Legend Curtly Ambrose with special guest Swallow, leading up to the headline act Ky-Mani Marley, son of Bob Marley. Entrance fee EC$50/EC$40 in advance.

LAY DAY BEACH PARTY – Wednesday, May 2
So recovery day is Lay Day and this year all the action will be at Pigeon Beach - yes, back to the beach! We have some fun and games for you to sign up for including Junior/Senior dinghy racing with youths from Antigua’s National Sailing Academy, Stand-up Paddle Board Racing (you’re on your own with this one) and for a team sport, how about Sea Cadet match racing in four-man plus coxswain rowing boats. Yes rowing! Sign up for these events at the Committee Desk as early as possible. You can also sign up on the beach if space allows.
Of course we will have some fun games and a few drinks to keep things flowing along with music from DJ’s Purist and Stiffla into the evening. Come early, wear a hat and chill out before heading into the last two days of racing. Over at Bumpkins live music from Survivor Band followed by Fruta de la Manga at 5 pm.
LAY DAY PARTY NIGHT @ CLOGGY’S – Wednesday, May 2
If you’re still standing, Cloggy’s is the place to be after the Lay Day Beach Party. There will be music from 9 pm until as late as you can take it. For hunger pangs the famous Cloggy’s barbecue buffet will be fired up with tasty burgers, steaks and ribs. Free entrance.
THE DAILY PRIZE GIVING - Thursday, May 3
Beginning at 2:30 pm drinks, food and music from DJ Chickie will be available on the lawn at Antigua Yacht Club. The daily prize giving will take place at 5 pm and prizes will be awarded to the day’s winning boats.
THE HARBOUR LIME – Thursday, May 3
This is your night to ‘Lime as you Like’. Enjoy the hospitality of Antigua Sailing Week’s Official Restaurant and Bar Partners and the vendors in English Harbour. Whether you want a quiet time dining or a big party night, there will be something for everyone. The SWAT team will give you all the details. Just remember you have one more day of racing on Friday.
THE ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA MARINE ASSOCIATION DAILY PRIZE GIVING – Friday, May 4
Starting at 2:30 pm drinks, food and music will be available on the lawn at Antigua Yacht Club. DJ Misbehaviour from New York will keep your toes tapping. The daily prize giving is sponsored by the Antigua and Barbuda Marine Association and will take place at 4 pm today to make way for the Final Awards Ceremony to be held later in the evening. One lucky boat will win free entry to Antigua Sailing Week 2013 and plenty more will be on offer.
THE FINAL AWARDS PARTY – Friday, May 4
The awards presentation will begin promptly at 7 pm on the water side of the Copper and Lumber Store Hotel in Nelson’s Dockyard. Food and drink will be on sale throughout the evening and once the silverware has been distributed the dancing will begin. Live music from Rico and the 4 Play Band and music from Choice FM & Grown n’ Sexy – Dave VJ. Free entrance.
DOCKYARD DAY – Saturday, May 5
For those of you who don’t have to rush off, Dockyard Day signals the end of Antigua Sailing Week for all Antiguans. It is a big family day where schools, church choirs, dance troupes and friends come out and enjoy the festivities. The Beating of the Retreat and lowering of the Antiguan flag signals the official end to Antigua Sailing Week. |
