ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK SOCIAL SCHEDULE

Saturday 23rd April, 5 pm – 10 pm, The Welcome Party @ The Beer Tent – A chance to catch up with old friends. Happy hour, tasty food and live music from Lime Hellsgate Steel Orchestra and roots reggae band Mansire as well as Steel pan.

Saturday 23rd April 2011, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, The Media Reception
Antigua Sailing Week 2011 Official Media Reception at the Chivas Lounge in the Copper & Lumber Store. Registration is from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Reception is from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Invitation Only.

Saturday 23rd April, 11 pm – 3 am, The Official Welcome After Party @ Abracadabra – SOS……Rescued by Club Music. The best of European Dance Music on the deck and Balearic chill out lounge in the cool backyard, fire eater and dancers. EC $20 at the door.

Sunday 24th April, 8 am – 11 am, Breakfast @ Shirley Heights Lookout – Enjoy incredible views of the races to the sound of steel pan and new this year, race commentary, also on VHF Channel 67 for any spectator boats out on the water, as well as for spectators at Shirley Heights Lookout.

Sunday 24th April, 4 pm – Midnight, The Galleon Beach Bash - Live music from Blade @ Calabash Beach Bar and Restaurant.  Drinks and dining on the deck, DJ’s and chill out on the beach, tasty food and cold drinks at Vendors Village and some surprise guests arriving throughout the afternoon. Across the water @ Event Village, Ambaz live on stage at 7 pm.

Monday 25th April, 3 pm – 11 pm, Monday Madness @ Event Village - Live music from Spirited with cricketing legend Curtley Ambrose  on stage at 8 pm, with excellent food and afternoon happy hour.

Monday 25th April 2011, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Captain's Cocktail Party
Antigua Sailing Week 2011 Captain’s Cocktail Party will be held in the Chivas Lounge at Copper and Lumber in the dockyard. Invitation Only.

Tuesday 26th April, 5 pm – 11 pm, Sunset at the Heights @ Shirley Heights Lookout - Maxi Priest Headlines this superb party. Halcyon Steel Band at sunset followed by Itchy Feet and Hygh Tempa.  EC $50 in advance, EC $60 at the door.  Tickets on sale at the SWAT booths in Event Village and the Antigua Yacht Club from 21st April and at the Antigua Hotels and Tourist Association office in St. John’s.

Wednesday 27th April, 5 pm – 10 pm, Lay Day @ Antigua Yacht Club – Fun and games, music from Chickie Hi-Fi and LIME Hellsgate Steel Orchestra with the return of the greasy pole and wet T-shirt competition.  Teams interested in participating should register at the Committee Desk. Then back over to Event Village for live music from Tizzy & El-A-Kru from 9 pm.

Thursday 28th April, 2 pm until . . . , The Dock Party @ Jolly Harbour - Enjoy the afternoon into evening lime with live music from Itchy Feet at the Jolly Harbour Sports Bar and Urban Hustle, Lime Hellsgate Steel Pan and Chickie Hi-Fi playing throughout the afternoon and into the night.  Bars, restaurants and shops are open all evening throughout the commercial centre.

Friday 29th April, 7 pm until . . . , Prize Giving @ Event Village - Awards begin promptly at 7 pm followed by live music from Laviscount Brass. Food and drink on sale.  Free entry.

Saturday 30th April, 2 pm – 7 pm, Dockyard Day @ Nelson’s Dockyard - Ole’ time fun with choirs, steel pan, mas, parades and more.  Prize winners of the Liat School Arts Competition and Beating of the Retreat lead this family afternoon out to the Dockyard Car Park for the finale party.

Saturday 30th April, 7 pm until . . . , The Cavalier Rum Street Party @ The Dockyard Car Park -  Enjoy excellent food  and live music including Burning Flames, Tian Winter, Claudette Peters & Taxik & LIME Hellsgate Steel Orchestra. The party will also celebrate the official launch of Antigua Carnival 2011.

Sunday 1st May – 4 pm until . . . , The Big Beach Bash @ Dickenson Bay - Live Music, DJ’s, excellent food vendors and a serious beach lime. If you can come by water, cruise to Dickenson Bay, moor up and enjoy the music from your boat, or go ashore and join in the fun. Enjoy a performance later in the evening by Trinidadian Soca Artist, Iwer George. Remember the next day is a Bank Holiday!
