Antigua Sailing Week is delighted to launch the 2016 LIAT Schools Art Competition. In October, LIAT, The Caribbean Airline celebrates 60 years of service, connecting our region and connecting the people of the Caribbean. It seemed fitting therefore that the theme for the competition this year is concentrating on how our region connects with the world.
Marketing Manager Carol Jordan says: ‘The theme this year is, LIAT, The Caribbean Airline celebrates 60 years of service, connecting our region, connecting the people of the Caribbean. However we are more than just focused on LIAT and how we assist in connecting people from around our region. We want the children to focus on our oceans also, as the longevity of the human race will be determined by the health of our oceans.’
Competitors aged from 5-18 years will compete in three age groups as well as for a people’s choice award voted for on the LIAT Schools Art Competition Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/aswschoolsart). LIAT, The Caribbean is Airline is encouraging children to think creatively about what they and the rest of the population do in, on and with our water, and about conserving and protecting our water.
Deadline for entries is Friday April 15th and entries can be left at the Antigua Hotels and Tourist Association office on Newgate Street, St. John’s or at the Antigua Sailing Week office upstairs at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina, in English Harbour.
