Reggae superstar, Tarrus Riley will headline this year’s highly anticipated Antigua Sailing Week Reggae in the Park on Tuesday, 1st May.
The organisers are expecting a huge turn-out for the ninth edition of Reggae in the Park when sailors and reggae lovers come to the historic, Nelson’s Dockyard to dance and sing under the stars.
Antigua Sailing Week Events Manager Rana Lewis says: “I’m very pleased with the steady growth of Reggae In the Park as a brand, having been able to secure some of the best global reggae artists. Our team is continuously looking for ways to bring our visiting guests and our local audiences a memorable entertainment experience. This contemporary reggae artist, Tarrus Riley, with his positive and uplifting lyrics encompass the togetherness we want to see in the Park on the night of the show at Nelson’s Dockyard.”
Riley has recorded six albums and in 2008 his song ‘She’s Royal’ won the Reggae Academy Awards for Best Reggae Song, Most Popular Song, Best Solo Male Vocal Performance and Breakthrough Reggae Artiste. His more recent hits such as My Day and Simple Blessings are feel good anthems all around the world!
Lewis adds that the show will also feature two of Antigua’s most popular bands: “We are delighted that the extremely popular Spirited Band featuring cricketing legend Curtly Ambrose and The Strays will complete the evening’s line-up. It promises to be a memorable show.”
